If you spend your days analyzing how Agentic AI is poised to upend traditional enterprise software, you get used to a lot of polished, carefully manicured CEO talking points.
That’s exactly why Dwarkesh Patel’s recent interview with Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang is required viewing. It is a rare, unvarnished look at the leader of the world’s most critical tech company. You should watch it in its entirety not just for the technical breakdowns of semiconductor manufacturing, but for the sheer, raw defensiveness Huang displays when his company’s absolute dominance is questioned.
While the conversation is somewhat technical, I found the whole thing riveting. Dwarkesh is arguably the best interviewer around today, and it shows. Jensen sits at the core of the modern economy, and is unexpectedly defensive. His framing, toward the end, around the need for a US dominated tech stack is fairly solid, and rings similar to the notion of the dollar being the reserve currency of the world. With reserve status, post gold standard, global trade exploded maybe coincidentally, but I think not. Reserve status also gave unparalleled soft-power influence to the US, which is essentially the same argument that Jensen is making about owning the AI stack (with Nvidia at the core, obviously).
Watch this.
